For the ceiling cladding in Glencore’s staff restaurant, the architectural firm opted for three different “ceiling systems”.
The largest area, covering over 300 m², was finished with a coffered ceiling.
This ceiling area has a grid of 1 x 1 m and is 20 cm deep. A sound-absorbing micro-panel installed on top ensures perfect acoustics.
As a second type of ceiling, individual sections were fitted with veneered baffles that are also 20 cm high. These baffles are mounted in a grid of approximately 250 mm. And last but not least, one section was also clad with micro-panels mounted across the entire surface.
The unifying element across all ceiling cladding is the same surface finish.
The choice was European ash, crown cut veneer, stained medium brown.
In addition to manufacturing and supplying all this cladding, we were also able to work with our client, Plafondnova AG from Rotkreuz (ZG), to develop and deliver the installation solution.
